We believe that Portugal's greatest economic challenge is not creating more businesses, but helping the best ones scale.
Ó Capital exists to address this challenge. We are a family office that invests and works hand-in-hand with ambitious SMEs, combining capital, expertise, and execution to accelerate their growth. Our goal is simple: to contribute to a Portuguese business landscape characterized by larger, more competitive companies capable of creating sustainable, long-term value.
Origin
The Origin of the Name
The name Ó Capital reflects, first and foremost, the surname of our Founder and Executive Chairwoman, Sara do Ó. But leaving it at that would be far too obvious.
“Ó” is also the most inherently Portuguese interjection that exists — used to call out, to admire, or to react to what surprises us. This is how we look at the companies we partner with: with genuine attention and immediate action, never with the detachment of someone merely looking at numbers.
We believe in SMEs with the ambition to make them larger, more sustainable, and more resilient.

“Ó” is also the most Portuguese interjection there is — used to call, to admire, to react to what surprises us. This is how we look at the companies we work with: with genuine attention and immediate action, not with the distance of someone who only observes numbers.

We think big and leave a mark on every company we enter. We achieve this through an agile, human, and hands-on approach.
